For purposes of insurance, the life saving course you do must be recognised by the STA.  There are two minimum standard courses available:

1. The National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches awarded by the Royal Life Saving Society.

2. The equivalent NARS qualification issued by the STA. You need to speak to the STA to check which of their current courses meets your requirements.

Please ensure that your qualification incorporates a specialist module in 'Infant Basic Life Support' (or equivalent).You must have completed your life saving qualification before you can start teaching Water Babies classes on your own.
